We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

The Fraud Investigation team’s mission is to ensure Robinhood customers have swift identification and resolution of fraud-related issues. We do this by interacting with customers when their accounts encounter fraud, placing temporary restrictions on accounts if needed, investigating customer-surfaced and RH-identified fraud, communicating in a timely manner, and efficiently restoring and remediating accounts to their pre-fraud status. We train and employ skilled and knowledgeable investigators, deliver consistent and high-quality support, and minimize impact from fraud losses to protect our customers and our company’s financial health.

As a Fraud Operations Intern, you will conduct an end-to-end fraud investigation of accounts that have any concerns of fraud, with the ultimate goal of protecting our customers and minimizing fraud exposures to the firm. As a Fraud Operations Intern you will be responsible for reviewing fraud alerts, determining fraud or no-fraud and help identify emerging fraud trends through data analysis.

This role is based in our Denver, CO office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What you’ll do
  • Review and investigate suspected fraudulent alerts — both proactive and reactive — using multiple internal and external tools
  • Use data analysis techniques, critical thinking, and pattern detection to identify emerging fraud trends and detection methodologies
  • Recognize and actively communicate emerging fraud trends and findings to relevant stakeholders
  • Document the rationale and determination for each alert and submit referrals to other Robinhood teams where necessary
  • Occasionally communicate with customers regarding information on their accounts related to an active fraud investigation
What you bring
  • Currently enrolled in a full‑time, degree‑seeking program in Business, Accounting, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a related field with an expected graduation date of Winter 2027/Spring 2028
  • Interest in the end-to-end fraud investigation process and various fraud typologies, including Account Takeovers, Identity Theft, and Money Movement Fraud
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to independently make sound decisions on potentially fraudulent cases
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams, such as product, engineering, legal, compliance, or financial crimes
What we offer
  • Market competitive compensation structure
  • Quarterly lifestyle wallet for personal wellness, learning and development, and more
  • Access to the best AI tools on the market and continuous AI skill-building for every employee, technical or not
  • Time away including company holidays, paid time off, and sick time
  • Lively office environment with catered meals, fully stocked kitchens, and geo‑specific commuter benefits
