• Consult with client management to analyze short-range business requirements and propose innovations.
• Monitor the technology direction of the industry and vendor applications.
• Research and initiate change to the status quo when necessary.
• Responsible for vendor and product analysis and recommendations.
• Oversee application development, testing, and technology infrastructure/project management.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in the assigned area.
• Build rapport within the organization and communicate effectively.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and professional organizations.
• Control team activities, assign personnel to projects and direct their work.
• Ensure completion of schedules and short-term staffing planning.
• Implement technology aligned with standards and long-range plans; ensure documentation.
• Translate requirements to detailed specifications for system enhancements; manage recommended designs and identify risks.
• Manage monitoring of project plans; coordinate major activities and stay aware of cross-team impacts.
• Develop and manage multiple cost center budgets.
• Recommend new policies and procedures to improve department performance.
• Exercise usual authority over staffing, appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations.
• Understand and adhere to risk/regulatory standards; design internal controls to mitigate risk.
