Responsibilities

  • Actively engages the Catholic and Franciscan mission and identity of FMOLHS University.
  • Coordinate the activities of ECI Team through regular meetings and communication
  • Work with REACH Team to align activities between REACH and ECI Grant
  • Manage research efforts among faculty and staff related to Virtue Ethics and Virtue Pedagogy
  • Oversee development and refinement of outcomes for the ECI Program and measurement of those outcomes
  • Coordinate faculty development on Virtue Ethics
  • Develop co-curricular activities with Student Affairs, Service Learning, and Campus Ministry
  • Identify potential grant funders and interface with Institutional Advancement for funding
  • Oversee the Educating Character Initiative budget
  • Engage in data-driven problem solving and decision making
  • Perform any other duties as assigned or requested

Program Coordinator for Educating Character Initiative (ECI)


The Program Coordinator for Educating Character Initiative (ECI) will be responsible for coordinating all Program activities across campus: curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular, pre-nursing, nursing, post-graduation; Managing research for Program effectiveness related to understanding of Virtue Ethics; Faculty members teaching relevant pre-nursing courses; and overseeing development for all faculty members teaching relevant pre-nursing courses; and overseeing development and refinement of outcomes which address the addition of Virtue Ethics in each of the relevant pre-nursing courses. This is a grant-funded position with funding currently secured through 2028. Renewal or continuation of the position beyond the grant period is dependent upon the availability of continued funding and institutional approval. #CB


Responsibilities

Mission Alignment

Actively engages the Catholic and Franciscan mission and identity of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University by modeling the Franciscan values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting justice for the communities we serve, and integrating the Catholic and Franciscan intellectual traditions in programs, courses and services


Coordinate the activities of other members of the Educating Character Initiative (ECI) Team through regular meetings and communication

Work with REACH Team to align activities between Reflecting on Ethics and Catholic Healthcare (REACH) and ECI Grant


Research Coordination

Manage research efforts among faculty and staff related to Virtue Ethics and Virtue Pedagogy


Program Assessment

Oversee development and refinement of outcomes for ECI Program as well as measurement of those outcomes


Work with faculty to develop and measure course outcomes linked to Program outcomes


Faculty Development

Coordinate efforts to provide faculty development on Virtue Ethics


Co-curricular Activities

Develop activities in coordination with Student Affairs, Service Learning, and Campus Ministry that provides students opportunities to develop character and perseverance


Identify potential grant funders who can continue this project and interface with Institutional Advancement to approach for funding


Budget Management

Oversee the management of the Educating Character Initiative budget


Data-Driven Decision-Making

Engage in an analytical, empirical, data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making


Other Duties as Assigned

Perform any other duties as assigned or requested


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

At least two (2) years of experience in Catholic higher education, required


EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a Health-Related field, required


Master’s Degree, preferred

Familiarity with the Virtue Ethics tradition; Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
