Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. seeks an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll and client service. You’ll be an integral part of delivering on our brand purpose to help and inspire communities everywhere.

You will post financial transactions, reconcile accounts, generate financial statements, and prepare payroll, 1099s and W2s while communicating with clients and banking contacts. Confidentiality and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications, or ability to obtain.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate with clients, suppliers and banking contacts.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s, and calculate tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
