Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll, and customer service. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare payroll while supporting our mission to provide help and inspire confidence in communities.

The role requires 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, GAAP knowledge, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Xero experience is preferred and certification paths are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from NBA, or ability to obtain them.
• 1-3 years bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality with professionalism.
• Strong analytical skills and eye for details.
• Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities.
