Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, knowledge of GAAP, and familiarity with Xero. Role is on-site in Michigan, with a commitment to confidentiality and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or the ability to obtain certifications.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles & procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply complete instructions, policies, and regulations.
• Discretion and professionalism with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
