The role emphasizes drafting and negotiating FDDs and franchise agreements, advising on FTC Franchise Rule compliance, and collaborating with internal teams and external counsel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a dedicated franchisor-focused role.
• Active Bar license in at least one U.S. state.
• Experience drafting and negotiating FDDs and franchise agreements.
• Strong understanding of FTC Franchise Rule and state franchise laws.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate franchise disclosure documents (FDDs) and franchise agreements.
• Advise franchisors on compliance with federal and state franchise laws.
• Assist in franchise development strategies and territory rights.
• Conduct due diligence on franchise territories, IP, and assets.
• Develop policies for franchise operations, marketing, and dispute resolution.
• Provide guidance on terminations, renewals, and transfers.
• Stay updated on evolving franchise laws and best practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel to manage legal risks.
