Job summary

Twin Ridge Contractors is seeking skilled framers to join our construction team. You will assemble and construct the framework for residential, public works, and commercial projects, following blueprints and specifications.

You will measure, cut, lay out, and install framing components, ensuring accurate dimensions and alignment while adhering to safety standards and coordinating with crew and project managers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in framing residential, public works, or commercial projects preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to assemble building frameworks.
  • Measure and cut lumber and plywood to exact specs.
  • Layout and marking of materials according to plans.
  • Install studs, joists, and rafters with proper spacing.
  • Secure framing members with nails, screws, and fasteners.
  • Coordinate with carpenters, contractors, and PMs for project flow.
  • Communicate effectively with team to meet milestones.
  • Follow safety regulations and wear PPE.
  • Perform quality checks on framing work and address deviations.
  • Handle and transport materials safely to/from the site.
  • Maintain inventory of framing materials.

Job description

Twin Ridge Contractors is looking for skilled and experienced framers to join our construction team. As a framer, you will be responsible for assembling and constructing the framework of residential, public works, and commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of framing techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities:

- Interpret construction blueprints and specifications to accurately assemble and construct building frameworks.

- Measure and cut materials, including lumber and plywood, to precise specifications.

Layout and Marking:

- Execute precise layout and marking of materials according to blueprints, ensuring accuracy in dimensions and alignment.

- Follow established guidelines and layouts for walls, floors, and ceilings.

- Install structural components, including studs, joists, and rafters, ensuring proper spacing and alignment.

- Secure framing members to the building's structure using nails, screws, or other appropriate fasteners.

- Work closely with other construction professionals, including carpenters, contractors, and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution.

- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and achieve project milestones.

Safety Compliance:

- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Participate in regular safety meetings and contribute to a safe working environment.

Quality Control:

- Conduct quality checks on completed framing work to ensure it meets established standards and specifications.

- Identify and address any issues or deviations from the original plans.

- Safely and efficiently handle and transport construction materials to and from the worksite.

- Organize and maintain an inventory of framing materials.

Qualifications:

  • Previous construction or labor experience preferred but not required - we're willing to train the right person.
  • Ability to perform physical labor and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork.
