Engelsma Homes in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a hands-on carpenter to join our framing crew. You will frame new residential homes, remodels, and decks under the Field Operations Manager, applying strong framing techniques and a safety mindset.

You should be comfortable on the jobsite, able to read plans, coordinate with subcontractors, and continually improve your craft. We offer a culture that emphasizes getting it done, teamwork, and professional growth.

Who You Are:

You're a hands-on crew member who has experience in a broad range of construction job site tasks. Working under the guidance of the Field Operations Manager, you'll frame new construction homes, remodels, and decks. You're comfortable on a construction job site in the elements and are versed in strong framing techniques and building practices. You are open to continuous learning and honing your framing and construction skillset. If you are a team player who can communicate effectively, stay organized, and bring your construction know-how to the team, this could be a role you excel in!

What You'll Do:

You'll work in a broad range of rough carpenter tasks, representing Engelsma Homes with professionalism, a safety mindset, and high quality of work. Specifically, you'll:

• Frame new residential homes, including walls, floors, roofs, and exterior structures
• Interpret and read construction plans, ensuring framing is built to specifications and quality standards with a high attention to detaild>
• Partner with other framers, subcontractors, and site superintendents, displaying professionalism and positivity
• Operate safely on the jobsite, bringing experience working with common carpentry and construction tools
• Monitor and coordinate site cleanliness and organization
• Continuously hone your craft - improving skills, knowledge, and learning new systems, products, and methods.
