Job summary

IFF is a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences. This role leads the Innovation Creation & Design Operations Laboratory in NYC, requiring on-site presence five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant laboratory leadership experience.
• Experience managing operations in a laboratory environment with focus on quality and service delivery.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety requirements, regulatory compliance practices, and risk management principles.
• Proven ability to lead people, develop talent, and foster accountability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the IC&D Operations Laboratory, ensuring high-quality sample and evaluation prep delivered on time.
• Drive laboratory performance via resource planning, workload balancing, capacity management, and KPI monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental requirements, waste management, and applicable regulations.
• Lead, coach and develop laboratory team members through objectives, performance management, onboarding, and training.
• Establish and maintain standardized operating procedures to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Partner with Perfumers, Sales, Consumer Insights, Quality Control, and STEI teams.
• Manage laboratory improvement projects and support change initiatives to enhance service levels and productivity.
• Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance, organization and readiness.
• Collaborate with global laboratory peers to align best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
