Job summary

Modern Foundation is seeking a fractional technology leader who remains hands‑on to architect and build a robust stack powering a data‑centric business. You will write code, shape data foundations, and align tracking with KPIs in collaboration with the media team.

In this part‑time, contract role, you’ll drive AI innovation, oversee security and compliance (ADA/GDPR/CCPA/HIPAA), manage cloud infrastructure (GCP), and mentor staff while engaging with clients on CRO and measurement strategies.

Fractional Technology Leader

Summary

Modern Foundation is looking for a fractional technology leader who remains hands‑on. We need someone with 15+ years of experience spanning web platforms, software development, and technical leadership. As Head of Technology for Modern Foundation, you will architect, build, and maintain a robust technology stack that powers a data‑centric business model. Operating in a hands‑on capacity, you will personally design and develop scalable solutions while collaborating with the media team to align tracking infrastructure with overarching key performance indicators (KPIs).

You will lead the evolution of our tech stack by prototyping emerging initiatives and writing the code to transform them into full‑fledged products for both internal insights and client deliverables. Acting as a strategic partner to the executive team, you will identify gaps in reporting and marketing intelligence while continually advancing our MarTech foundation.

Job Responsibilities

• Hands‑on Development & Architecture: Actively write code and build technical solutions from scratch, architect scalable data foundations, and unify disparate data sets for deeper business insights.
• Strategic Oversight & Governance: Drive collaborative performance reporting, challenge team boundaries to foster innovation, shape measurement strategies, oversee technology budgets, software licensing, and vendor relationships, and ensure company‑wide adherence to regulatory compliance frameworks (ADA, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
• Business Development & Pitches: Actively participate in client and prospect pitches, translating complex technical architectures and data strategies into compelling value propositions.
• AI Innovation & Execution: Stay current on LLM advancements and emerging AI capabilities, designing, building, and deploying realistic, scalable AI solutions that expand client deliverables and optimize organizational workflows.
• Infrastructure & Security Management: Manage internal IT governance, cloud environments (GCP), security protocols, SSO implementation, and Cloudflare configurations.
• Client Engagement & CRO: Partner directly with client IT teams to ensure proper access, tracking implementation, and code deployment while providing actionable recommendations on digital footprints and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
• SEO & Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): Optimize web properties for traditional search engines while architecting structured data, semantic content models, and API endpoints to ensure maximum visibility, citation, and accurate brand representation within AI‑driven search engines and answer engines (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini).
• Leadership & Talent Development: Mentor any internal team members, establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for tracking and reporting efficacy, and scale technical capabilities as the organization grows.

Qualifications

• Hands‑On Engineering & Data Architecture: Demonstrated ability to independently develop software and data solutions, complemented by advanced expertise in tag management systems, website element interaction, and complex tracking implementations.
• Infrastructure, Security & Regulatory Compliance: Proven proficiency in managing cloud infrastructure via Google Cloud Platform (GCP), securing enterprise environments, configuring Cloudflare network/security services, deploying robust Single Sign‑On (SSO) protocols, and ensuring strict adherence to accessibility (ADA) and data privacy/healthcare regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
• Technical Leadership & AI Strategy: A hands‑on builder with a history of translating high‑level business goals into functional product prototypes, coupled with a deep, practical understanding of applied LLM frameworks and emerging AI solutions.
• Collaboration & Communication: Exceptional cross‑functional and client‑facing leadership skills, with a proven ability to pitch technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholder groups and executive leadership.
