Job summary

Arootah is building a network of senior operators to support clients in the alternative investment industry. We’re seeking experienced Directors of Operations to consult for our client base, including leading asset firms and family offices.

You bring hands-on management of daily operations and deep experience overseeing trade lifecycle and controls. As a consultant, you engage on project-based engagements via the Arootah advisor network, providing expert advice, mentorship, and implementation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with strong academic record.
• MBA or MS in Operations is a plus.
• 10+ years as a Director of Operations in Alternatives Asset Firm or Family Office.
• Deep knowledge of asset classes, markets, and settlement processes.
• Experience with fund accounting software and reconciliation programs.
• Strong problem solving, analysis, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations management and trade lifecycle oversight.
• Hire, mentor, and conduct performance reviews; advise on compensation.
• Define objectives and develop scalable, efficient processes.
• Ensure internal controls, regulatory compliance, and risk reduction.
• Oversee audits and attestations across operations groups.
• Manage vendor relationships and communications with auditors/legal/regulators.
• Set team objectives and resource planning; align with project goals.
• Oversee KPIs and scoring matrices to measure progress.
