Job summary

AIRES Inc. seeks a Fractional Chief Technology Officer to provide senior technical leadership during the pre-build and early execution stage. This hands-on leadership role will pressure-test the architecture, identify risks, and guide decisions to ensure secure, scalable implementation.

The CTO will work with the Founder/CEO as the company’s senior technical authority until a full-time leader is in place, focusing on strategic technology direction rather than a traditional co-founder role.

Qualifications

• Prior CTO-level leadership experience in fintech, blockchain, or complex financial software.
• Experience designing secure, scalable fintech platforms with production-grade architecture.
• Strong ability to review architecture and delivery plans and manage external engineering teams.
• Excellent communication with founders, investors, engineers, auditors, and counsel.
• Comfort operating in an early-stage environment with evolving priorities and limited resources.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate the existing technical architecture, specifications, engineering documentation, and security model.
• Identify material technical gaps, dependencies, implementation risks, and sequencing issues.
• Refine the technical roadmap and MVP build strategy.
• Advise on Solana, EVM, smart contracts, off-chain platform, data, identity, compliance, and infrastructure decisions.
• Establish engineering standards, development practices, and technical governance.
• Support the selection, onboarding, and oversight of engineering vendors and technical partners.
• Review estimates, sprint plans, milestones, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide architecture and code-review oversight as development progresses.
• Guide security, audit readiness, upgrade controls, incident response, and operational resilience.
• Support technical diligence with investors, auditors, legal counsel, and strategic partners.
• Help define the long-term engineering organization and full-time CTO transition plan.
• Communicate technical risks and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
