Role Description

The Fractional Consultant will serve as an embedded strategic finance leader for client organizations, working on-site at ExecOne Consulting’s location in Polk City, IA. This is a full-time role focused on advising clients on financial strategy, designing and reviewing annual budgets, and developing cash flow forecasts that support operational and growth objectives. The consultant will analyze financial performance, prepare executive-level reporting, and translate data into clear recommendations for leadership teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and refining dashboards and KPIs, identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability, and collaborating with client stakeholders across departments to align financial plans with business goals. The role also involves supporting change initiatives, guiding clients through key financial decisions, and ensuring that recommended strategies are practical, compliant, and sustainable.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
• Experience designing and using management dashboards and KPIs to drive decision-making and track business outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements that increase operational efficiency and profitability.
• Proficiency in financial modeling tools and common accounting or ERP systems, with advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with skill in explaining complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
• Proven track record in consulting, fractional leadership, or senior finance roles such as Controller, Director of Finance, or CFO.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA, MBA) is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site full time in Polk City, IA, manage multiple client engagements, and adapt quickly to varied business environments.
