Job summary

Rochester Sensors LLC is seeking an Electrical Technicial I to install, maintain, and repair electronic systems used for communication, security, and surveillance. You will operate machines, assemble parts, and perform inspections to ensure quality and safety on the line.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, soldering certification, and 1+ year of related production experience. Bilingual Spanish a plus; growth opportunities and a casual but energetic workplace are highlighted.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of related production/manufacturing experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills; bilingual Spanish a plus.
  • Soldering certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Operates assigned machine according to specifications and may lift, position, and remove pieces.
  • Positions and aligns parts in jig, fixture, or holding device.
  • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, or secures parts using hand/power tools and equipment.
  • Solders wires and connects components per drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Verifies quality with basic measuring instruments and notifies supervisor of nonconformances.
  • Reads blueprints or job orders for product specifications.
  • Packs and transports finished workpiece; maintains clean work area; follows safety rules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required and participates in meetings.

FPI ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN I

OVERVIEW

Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of electronic systems used for communication, security, and surveillance within the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates assigned machine according to specifications. May lift workpiece manually and position, secure and/or remove it from holding fixture.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture or other holding device.
  • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, or secures parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment
  • Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals and contact points, using soldering or related bonding procedures and equipment
  • Observes machine operation, and visually verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications using simple measuring instruments
  • Verifies quality of own work and may verify quality of work for other assigned persons on the line and notifies supervisor/group leader of any nonconformances
  • May read blueprints or job orders for product specifications, such as dimensions and tolerances
  • May pack and transport finished workpiece.
  • Practices good housekeeping by keeping work area free of debris and unnecessary clutter.
  • Performs work in accordance with all safety rules and regulations.
  • May perform other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates.
  • Serves on related committees and participates in meetings as required.
  • Actively supports the defined goals and objectives of the company.
  • Projects a professional, total-quality image in all aspects of this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ years of related production/manufacturing experience (preferred).
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Solid oral and written business communication skills (bilingual Spanish a plus).
  • Good organizational and work prioritization skills.
  • Manual Dexterity to sufficiently operate equipment and test equipment safely.
  • Near vision with or without correction for verifying quality of work.
  • Soldering Certified required.
  • Desire for growth and advancement

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Up to 10% travel may be required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to walk for prolonged periods of time, frequently bending, climbing, rotating, squatting, reaching, kneeling, or stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds, and periods of computer use.
