Job summary

VIAVI Solutions Inc. invites a HW/FPGA engineering co-op to contribute across the design and testing of hardware products. You will assist with circuit design, HDL coding, and testing while collaborating with a team to deliver robust solutions for communications test and measurement.

You will gain real-world experience on a product development team, working closely with engineers to create reliable hardware that meets demanding industry standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least one year of undergraduate education toward a degree in CPE, EE, or CS.
• Knowledge of fundamental electrical engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Familiarity with FPGA or CPLD programmable logic using HDL (Verilog or VHDL).
• Familiarity with the use of common lab equipment (oscilloscopes, meters).
• Familiarity with schematic, PCB layout, and simulation tools (SPICE).
• Knowledge of data communications and telecommunications protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist with circuit design and testing.
• Troubleshoot and write HDL test benches.
• Collaborate with engineers to bring a product to market.
• Develop market-leading solutions for communications test.
