Job summary

Star Catcher in Jacksonville, FL seeks an Electrical Engineer - FPGA Firmware to advance our orbital power grid. You will design and verify FPGA gateware (VHDL/Verilog), implement testbenches, and collaborate with hardware and software engineers on space-qualified systems.

Requirements: Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 5+ years in FPGA/RTL design; mastery of ModelSim/Questa, timing closure, and Git. Space exposure is a plus. Strong benefits and mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years designing and verifying FPGA gateware in VHDL/Verilog.
• Experience with FPGA/SoC toolchains and timing closure.
• Knowledge of self-checking testbenches, assertions, and automated regression tests.
• Git or equivalent version control for RTL/build configurations.

Responsibilities

• Design and verify FPGA gateware (VHDL/Verilog) for control loops and signal processing.
• Implement and validate algorithms in FPGAs and firmware.
• Support simulation, verification, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Develop verification tests and participate in design reviews.
• Collaborate with hardware and embedded software engineers on interfaces.
• Assist in qualification of FPGA/SoC platforms for flight applications.
