Job summary

L3Harris in Fort Wayne, IN seeks an FPGA Firmware Electrical Engineer to join the Space & Mission Systems team. You will design, implement, and test FPGA firmware across satellite links, telemetry, and encryption platforms, translating system requirements into FPGA solutions.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers, perform simulations, validation, and documentation, and work toward a US security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree with at least 2 years is acceptable.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Active Secret (or higher) security clearance is preferred, but not required.
• Experience with FPGA design processes and vendor tool suites.

Responsibilities

• Decompose and allocate system and box-level requirements to FPGA requirements and specifications.
• Architect solutions and implement them in FPGA technologies or platforms.
• Follow and refine firmware development processes across FPGA designs.
• Synthesize designs and perform place-and-route analysis.
• Generate design review packages and test procedures.
