FPGA Engineer – R&D Cyber Solutions

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground

Clearance Required: Secret (TS/SCI preferred)

Employment Type: 6 month contract-to-hire

What You’ll Do:

As an Embedded Hardware Engineer, you’ll play a key role in developing innovative solutions for cyber and electronic warfare (EW) operations. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to design, prototype, and evolve embedded systems using FPGA technology. Your work will directly impact mission success by delivering high-performance, reliable systems tailored to real-world operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop FPGA-based embedded systems using VHDL and low-level programming.
  • Integrate software and hardware components for cyber and EW applications.
  • Collaborate with software developers and systems engineers to create end-to-end solutions.
  • Support R&D efforts in modeling, simulation, and novel cyber capabilities.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and apply them to mission-critical challenges.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical or embedded systems engineering.
  • Proficiency in FPGA development, VHDL, and embedded programming.
  • Experience with C, C++, and MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments (RedHat, Rocky Linux).
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with software-defined radios (SDRs) and DSP algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience with Xilinx SoC and RFSoC platforms.
  • Knowledge of digital RF sampling, modulation techniques, and signal compression.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
