Job summary

North Atlantic Industries, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Design Intern for Summer 2027 on Long Island. You will assist in the design and development of complex digital electronic systems for NAI products, gaining hands-on experience with FPGA design, digital hardware, and hardware/software integration.

The role includes schematic entry, VHDL test benches, and circuit testing under experienced engineers, with a focus on professional growth and collaboration in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Demonstrate knowledge of digital circuit design fundamentals and VHDL.
• Demonstrate proficiency with standard Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
• Communicate effectively and apply analytical problem-solving skills.
• U.S. Person status and ability to provide documentation at hire (U.S. citizenship or Green Card).

Responsibilities

• Support the design of complex digital systems using FPGAs, digital hardware, and embedded software.
• Assist with schematic entry, VHDL test benches, FPGA simulation, and hardware/software integration.
• Support circuit testing and basic debugging under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Participate in project reviews and technical discussions involving design requirements and tradeoffs.
• Document engineering activities and complete assigned design-support tasks in accordance with project requirements.
