The Chief Engineer will serve as a technical expert, helping guide solution development, and ensuring alignment with client needs as well as helping to develop both the strategic and tactical direction of FPGA for our customers. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, with occasional travel required for customer meetings, conferences, or internal events.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Partner with the Sales team to determine the strategic direction of engagement with prospective clients and understand their technical challenges and needs.
  • Participate in customer meetings to provide technical expertise, tactical direction, presentations, and demonstrations.
  • Collaborate on proposal strategies and contribute to technical sections of bids.
  • Ensure that proposals reflect the latest FPGA design approaches and industry best practices.
  • Provide expert technical guidance for FPGA design, development, and verification across multiple projects.
  • Stay updated on trends, tools, and best practices in FPGA technologies and the aerospace industry.
  • Serve as a mentor to engineering teams, guiding them in project execution, architecture design, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical oversight to ensure high-quality solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop technical content such as white papers, presentations, and case studies.
  • Represent the company at conferences, industry events, and technical forums to enhance visibility and demonstrate thought leadership.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in FPGA design and development, with a strong preference for aerospace applications.
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
  • Hands-on experience with UVM, VHDL, Verilog, and FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx, Intel, or Microsemi).
  • Strong background in hardware-software integration and testing.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in technical proposal writing and business development.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements in aerospace (DO-254, DO-160, DO-178C, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) and system-on-chip (SoC) FPGA solutions.
