Job summary

Collins Aerospace in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Project Engineer to lead FPGA/ASIC and Foundational Software programs for advanced radio applications. You will coordinate across engineering, PM, and customer teams to deliver on time and within budget, serving as the engineering focal point for execution.

The role requires a STEM degree (or advanced degree) with substantial project leadership, and active U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Experience managing technical projects including schedule and Earned Value management, risk management, customer interaction, and briefing leadership
• 2+ years of experience communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, program management, and/or customers.
• 2+ years of experience working in an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Engineering for FPGA/ASIC and Foundational Software programs to ensure internal and customer commitments are met
• Provide project management direction during all program phases including pursuit, bidding, planning, and execution
• Track and report cost and schedule status
• Ensure compliance with Program and Product requirements as reflected in design plans
• Lead a wide range of entry-level to highly experienced engineers
• Travel up to 10% annually
