Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an FPGA design engineer to support the Avionic Systems Division at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The role involves designing and verifying FPGA/ASIC hardware for space systems and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects.

You will develop firmware, perform tests, and provide on-site technical support, with an expectation of 4+ days on site and up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university with 8+ years in digital/microelectronic hardware.
• Experience with FPGA/ASIC design using VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog and CAD tools.
• Experience designing high-speed PCB layouts and debugging digital hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and verify FPGA/ASIC boards and systems.
• Perform verification and validation of contractor designs.
• Develop firmware and test software for hardware testing.
• Provide on-site support and lead technical discussions with stakeholders.
• Mentor staff and drive cross-functional collaboration.
