REI is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to lead advanced FP&A initiatives within the Finance organization. You will identify opportunities, structure analyses, and influence senior stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes.

You will partner across Finance to modernize planning, forecasting, and reporting, while guiding automation and analytics initiatives. This role emphasizes scalable frameworks and impactful decision support.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of FP&A experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or similar.

The Principal Financial Analyst is the highest‑level individual contributor within the Finance organization. In this role, you provide advanced financial and analytical leadership. You identify complex or unclear opportunities, structure analytical approaches, and influence outcomes with senior stakeholders and business partners.

You will partner across the Finance organization to identify and execute opportunities that modernize how Finance plans, forecasts, reports, analyzes, and supports decision‑making. This role serves as a dedicated leader for Finance modernization, helping drive process simplification, technology enablement, analytics, automation, AI adoption, and capability development across FP&A and Shared Services. You will partner with Finance leaders to develop future‑state solutions, improve adoption of planning and reporting technologies, and establish scalable processes and analytical frameworks that increase organizational capacity, improve effectiveness, and enhance business outcomes. Your financial expertise, business insight, and transformation mindset will help shape the future of Finance at REI.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to shape priorities, evaluate investments, align financial strategy with enterprise objectives, and support strategic growth initiatives, new business models, customer acquisition, engagement, and lifetime value.
• Build trusted partnerships across Finance and relevant business functions to align priorities, support cross‑functional outcomes, and translate data into clear recommendations for senior and executive leaders.
• Define complex business questions, identify emerging needs, determine appropriate data sources, and structure analytical approaches that evaluate financial implications, risks, and tradeoffs.
• Design scalable financial models, business cases, scenario plans, and analytical frameworks that generate actionable insights and can be applied across teams and business areas.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor by establishing FP&A best practices, improving analytical rigor and decision framing, and providing analytical leadership for complex initiatives.
• Coach and mentor junior analysts while using artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to improve how FP&A identifies insights, models scenarios, and supports decisions at scale. Operate with a high degree of autonomy by guiding work from concept through implementation.

Required Qualifications

• Seven or more years of financial planning and analysis experience in Accounting or Finance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a similar field.
• Advanced financial modeling expertise, including scenario modeling and enterprise‑level tradeoff analysis.
• Strong business acumen and an understanding of end‑to‑end processes and their financial implications.
• Proven ability to define ambiguous problems and independently structure analytical solutions.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with a commitment to creating a mutually supportive work environment where people can do their best.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or similar certification.
• Experience supporting enterprise‑level or otherwise complex initiatives.
• Experience implementing, administering, optimizing, or governing SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or similar enterprise planning and analytics platforms.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Experience working in the retail industry.
