Job summary

Honigman LLP in Detroit seeks a Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead partner compensation, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analyses that support strategic decisions and firm performance. You will manage FP&A staff, develop robust budgets, coordinate with Tax and Payroll, and present complex financial data to partners with clear, actionable insights.

The role requires 7–10 years of FP&A leadership, strong modeling skills, and excellent communication abilities to interact

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 7–10 years of FP&A experience, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting processes, and pricing strategies.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proven track record of driving financial performance.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and financial analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage compensation process for attorneys, partners, and professional staff.
• Prepare compensation materials for committee meetings and presentations.
• Develop KPIs including creditable hours for compensation analysis.
• Collaborate with Compensation Committee and Payroll for timely updates.
• Prepare year-end compensation statements considering taxes, capital and home loans.
• Conduct financial analyses to determine distributions for equity partners.
• Set up independent contract files for payroll and monitor budgets.
• Facilitate budgeting and projections.
• Oversee covenant reporting and external surveys.
• Coordinate with Tax and Payroll on taxes and partner draws.
• Develop year-end equity partner communications.
• Develop best-practice models for pricing and profitability.
• Oversee annual budgeting and monthly reporting with detailed models.
• Lead FP&A team and mentor staff.
• Lead special projects and ad-hoc analyses.
