Job description

Food has lost its soul to modern convenience. And with it, it has lost the power to nourish, inspire, and connect us. So in 2018, CookUnity was founded as the first-of-its-kind platform that connects the world with the source of truly great food: chefs. Today, CookUnity delivers 50 million meals a year from the industry’s best chefs to homes all over the country. Fresh. Ready-to-eat. And crafted with the passion that nourishes body and soul.

Unwilling to stop there, CookUnity is expanding beyond delivery to become an ever-innovating marketplace focused on our singular mission: empower Chefs to nourish the world.

If that mission has you hungry in more ways than one, you’ve found the right job posting.

The role:

The Growth Finance manager will be a leader in our growing Finance team. You will be the key finance business partner to the Growth organization, comprised of Marketing, Brand, and Product teams. You will provide financial insights, develop forecasts, and support strategic decision-making. You will lead key workstreams that drive results for the organization, including the performance review process, marketing investment analysis, and product innovation analysis. You will be responsible for setting ambitious goals, analyzing performance to identify opportunities and risks, collaboratively building plans to achieve those goals, and leading decision-making to ensure to stay on track. We need an influential finance leader to establish effective new processes and mold them for CookUnity’s needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Own financial planning for Growth: build and maintain forecasts and targets that account for marketing efficiency, new product performance, and business objectives, and translate Growth leaders' plans into the financial plan
  • Lead performance reporting: build dashboards and tools to track operational/financial performance vs. plan, and own weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews
  • Own the CAC forecasting model across all paid channels (efficiency curves, elasticity, seasonality), and run attribution analysis to explain blended CAC movements
  • Maintain LTV, CAC, and payback economics by channel, market, and cohort to flag where unit economics are strengthening or compressing
  • Build and own the capital allocation framework guiding marketing spend across acquisition, reactivation, and retention, grounded in marginal return analysis
  • Develop and evaluate business cases for marketing investments, new initiatives, and new products, including retention/promo economics and campaign ROI vs. contribution margin
  • Partner with Marketing, Data, and Accounting to maintain reliable data infrastructure for marketing finance, and drive cross-functional process improvements
  • Identify financial risks tied to growth activities and ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and internal controls
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or operations, MBA preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience in finance roles of increasing responsibility. Ideally, a combination of both large company experience and startup experience
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including creating complex financial models from the ground up
  • Experience with FP&A modeling tools
  • Functional knowledge of accounting concepts and internal controls
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influence skills that can drive cross-functional initiatives involving employees from across the organization.
  • Ability to problem-solve, strong time-management skills, and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with big picture orientation- capable of interpreting findings and communicating valuable, actionable insights.
  • Unfazed by the challenges of developing systems and processes from scratch.
  • Ability to leverage generative AI to increase output quality and speed.
