Job description

Call Your Mother is the Jew-ish deli where Boca meets Brooklyn, grandma-level hospitality meets seriously good bagel sandwiches, and hard work meets face-melting vibes.

Husband-and-wife team Andrew and Chef Dani built Call Your Mother around a simple idea: make scrumptious, nostalgic food and unforgettable experiences without being bougie or taking ourselves too seriously. From our first little farmer's market stand in 2018, to shops across the DMV, Colorado, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Miami in 2026, we're spreading carb love all over the map and our ovens are just getting warmed up! We'll take bagels to mars if the locals are hungry up there.

WE'RE HIRING AN FP&A MANAGER, BASED IN DC

The FP&A Manager plays a critical role in helping the company understand its financial performance and plan for the future. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis while partnering closely with leaders across the organization to provide insights that drive better decisions.

As CYM continues to expand into new cities, the FP&A Manager will help build scalable financial planning processes, develop reporting and dashboards that increase visibility into performance, and support capital planning for new shop openings. This role sits at the center of finance and operations and will translate financial data into clear insights that support growth.

The ideal candidate has strong financial modeling skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys partnering with teams across the business to improve performance. You are comfortable working with large datasets, building tools and reports that simplify complex information, and helping leaders understand the financial impact of their decisions.

If you're picking up what we're laying down, keep reading!

YOU'LL CRUSH THIS ROLE IF YOU...
  • Have a bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Bring 5+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or a similarly analytical role.
  • Have supported restaurant, retail, or other multi-unit consumer businesses—or are excited to bring your experience into that world.
  • Have advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, with serious expertise in Excel.
  • Have built budgets, forecasts, and scenario analyses that help leaders understand what's happening, what could happen next, and how to prepare for it.
  • Know how to turn complex financial information into clear, actionable insights that teams can actually use.
  • Have built dashboards and reporting that bring key business metrics to life and make performance easy to understand.
  • Build strong partnerships across finance and non-finance teams, communicating your insights with clarity and confidence.
  • Lead with integrity, take ownership of your work, and sweat the details because you know accurate information leads to better decisions.
  • Are highly organized and can confidently juggle multiple priorities, projects, and timelines without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Bring initiative, curiosity, and a solutions-first mindset to every challenge.
  • Are always looking for smarter, more scalable ways to improve processes, reporting, and performance.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where the business—and your work—continues to evolve.
  • Are digging our BIG V.I.B.E.S. (Vibrancy, Integrity, Belonging, Energy, and Seize the Moment).

Shall we proceed? If you blurted out an audible "YES INDEED!" then please keep reading.

WHAT YOU'LL REALLY BE DOING
  • Own company-wide budgeting and forecasting from end to end, partnering side-by-side with Operations, Development, People, and Support teams to build thoughtful, accurate financial plans.
  • Compare actual performance against forecasts, dig into what’s driving the results, and help leaders confidently plan for what's next.
  • Analyze sales, labor, food costs, and other key operating metrics to understand what's working, identify opportunities, and improve performance.
  • Turn complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that help leaders understand what's happening, why it's happening, and where to focus next.
  • Build financial models for new shop openings—including development costs, ramp-up assumptions, and projected returns—and partner with Development and Operations to evaluate opportunities and ensure our growth plans are financially sound.
