Job summary

Sila, an innovator in battery materials, is seeking an FP&A Manager to lead budgeting and forecasting, translate data into strategic insights, and partner with senior leadership across business units. You will help drive financial planning cycles, mentor team members, and optimize financial systems at our Alameda campus.

The role requires extensive FP&A experience, strong modeling skills, and excellent communication to navigate a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years of FP&A experience with business partnerships.
• Advanced financial modeling skills; proficient in Excel, G-Sheets, Power BI or Tableau.
• Familiar with financial systems such as SAGE X3 and database systems.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budget and ongoing reforecasting cycles.
• Partner with business units to provide financial leadership and build cross-functional relationships.
• Conduct variance analysis (budget vs. actual) and provide actionable commentary to leadership.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support strategic planning.
• Prepare and summarize business results for Quarterly Business Reviews and executive leadership.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes to drive automation and efficiency.
• Support the development of the FP&A team by mentoring finance members and driving cross-learning initiatives.
• Support system enhancement projects and portfolio analysis as required.

Who You Are

The FP&A Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving financialexcellence and providing strategic insights to guide business decision-making. You are aproactive problem-solver and a strategic thinker who can translate complex data into concrete,actionable recommendations. You will sit between senior leadership and the analyst team,partnering closely with business units to ensure alignment with corporate objectives. The idealcandidate is highly organized, adaptable, and possesses a proven track record of managingfinancial planning cycles while mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead the execution of annual budget and ongoing reforecasting cycles for the organization.
• Proactively partner with business units and key stakeholders to provide financial leadership and build strong cross-functional relationships.
• Conduct in-depth variance analysis (budget vs. actual), identify trends, and provide insightful commentary on financial performance to senior management.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support strategic planning and critical business decisions.
• Prepare and summarize business results and financial reports for Quarterly Business reviews and executive leadership.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial systems (such as SAGE X3) and processes to drive automation and efficiency.
• Support the development of the FP&A team by mentoring finance members and driving cross-learning initiatives.
• Support system enhancement projects and special portfolio analysis as required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. MBA or MS in Finance is highly preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant work experience in FP&A, including experience with business partnerships. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Exceptional financial modeling skills; proficiency in Excel, G-Sheets, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Familiarity with financial systems (e.g., SAGE X3) and database systems.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• This role is onsite at the Alameda campus.
• Ability to move long distances between buildings and remain stationary for extended periods.
• Operate standard office equipment, including computers and laptops.

The starting base pay for this role is between $169,000 and $213,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
