Job summary

Hot Topic is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the FP&A team in California. The role supports budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, and financial analysis across the business. Hybrid work from our City of Industry HQ three days a week.

You will collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, and business partners to understand results, identify trends, and drive better financial decisions. A strong Excel skill set and experience with financial models are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field preferred.
• 2–3 years of FP&A, corporate finance, or financial analysis experience.
• Strong Excel skills and experience building financial models.
• Solid understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support annual budget, forecasts, and monthly financial planning and reporting.
• Prepare and maintain financial models, reports, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze monthly results and explain variances vs budget/forecast/prior year.
• Collaborate with Accounting during month-end close on actuals and accruals.
• Prepare monthly reporting and presentations for management.
• Work with business partners to understand spending, risks, opportunities.
• Automate and improve existing reports and processes where possible.
• Support ad hoc financial analyses and projects.
