Job summary

MCE, a Bay Area public agency, seeks a Finance Manager, FP&A to own budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. You’ll prepare dashboards, financial models, and materials for the Finance Committee and Board, aligning spending with Board-approved budgets and policies.

You will lead a team, partner with cross-functional leaders, and streamline FP&A processes while supporting day-to-day operations, including wires and banking coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum of five years in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, or related field.
• Experience partnering with operational departments and explaining financial information to non-finance audiences.
• Experience managing complex recurring processes, leading projects, and reviewing the work of others.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budget development process and amendments with calendar, assumptions, and departmental submissions.
• Coordinate with department leaders to develop and review operating, staffing, and program budgets.
• Model the financial impact of rate changes, program decisions, staffing changes, or other strategic initiatives.
• Prepare management reports, variance analyses, dashboards, and explanations for senior management and the Board.
• Develop scenario analyses and forecast cash flow; translate financial information for non-finance audiences.
