Job summary

SmartSource is seeking an executive Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for the fast-paced event technology industry in the U.S. This role leads budgeting, forecasting, and MD&A with a focus on profitability for venues and productions.

The ideal candidate has 20+ years of corporate finance/FP&A experience, an MBA with CPA/CFM credentials, and strong SQL and Power BI skills. Travel is expected quarterly, and leadership of a high-performing FP&A team is essential.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of progressive corporate finance and FP&A mastery across venue operations ecosystems.
• MBA with active CPA and CFM credentials required.
• Strong SQL and Power BI capabilities; familiarity with SmartSource OS.
• Willingness to travel once a quarter.

Responsibilities

• Architect and govern driver-based bottoms-up budgeting for each event or production, coordinating with regional teams.
• Direct rolling forecasts across multi-year booking horizons and analyze share of wallet and pricing.
• Prepare MD&A narratives for the Exec Team highlighting variances and drivers.
• Lead SIOP integration aligning Sales, Inventory, Labor and Ops planning with cash flow metrics.
• Analyze ticketing channels, pricing strategies and margins across distributions.
• Oversee CapEx matrix and ROI/IRR for large-scale investments in staging and gear movement.
• Mentor FP&A team to deliver monthly flash reports and timely board presentations.
