Job summary

Allegacy Financial is seeking a details-oriented Financial Analyst to support financial and asset/liability management functions. You will assist in maintaining the IRR model, prepare routine reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet reporting deadlines.

• Strong analytical skills; must possess the ability to make quick decisions and use good judgment.
• Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, with the expectation of working as a motivated and cooperative team member
• Must possess a high sense of urgency and work ethic
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Must have ability to generate and analyze research data including an advanced knowledge of appropriate financial analysis techniques
• Strong communication skills including ability to effectively express complex ideas and highly technical financial information verbally and in writing in an understandable manner
• Must demonstrate high level skills in MS Excel, including macros
• Database skills required
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities
• Ability to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external customers that meets or exceeds our Service Promises
• Exercise critical thinking to understand current processes and identify areas of opportunity
• Support Senior Financial Analyst in maintaining the credit union’s in-house Interest Rate Risk (IRR) model
• Work closely with Senior Financial Analyst to ensure accuracy of modeling assumptions and potential strategic actions
• Analyze financial information and make recommendations based on best practices that are consistent with short/long term goals of the company
• Assist with the development of budgets for the organization
• Work on cross-functional projects and/or teams
• Plan and monitor timelines to meet strict deadlines for internal and external reporting requirements
• Gathers, compiles, and prepares information for routine financial reports, analysis, and presentations
• Monitor and track key performance metrics/indicators and reporting to management, including proactively highlighting success while identifying areas of improvement with possible alternatives
• Perform trend and variance analysis, modeling and what-if scenarios to assist in reaching strategic goals
• Establish relationships with all areas of Allegacy Financial to be viewed as a business partner
• Manage special project assignments as requested
• Assist in coordination and communication with NCUA examiners and external auditors
• Monitor and reconcile investment portfolio
