Job summary

Teradyne in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Senior Accountant who will report to the Controller and handle technical accounting issues, policies, and SOX compliance, supporting external financial reporting.

This role blends accounting expertise with knowledge of Teradyne's manufacturing environment, focusing on month-end close, revenue recognition, and related processes. Hybrid onsite in San Jose; CPA preferred; 6+ years' multinational tech/manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of related accounting experience; public company experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
• Strong understanding of ASC-606 and international revenue recognition policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close process: ensure accurate and timely completion of journal entries, reconciliations, reports, and financial statements adhering to GAAP
• Support broader accounting & audit tasks: coordinate ad-hoc projects, assist with internal/external audits, and uphold company standards while providing support to business partners and management
• Assist with quarter end activities, such as accruals, journal entry processing, reconciliations, and consolidations
• Oversee revenue recognition, project/deal flux analysis, and all activities associated with these
• Develop a solid understanding of the business process and GAAP to ensure accurate revenue recognition

Opportunity Overview:

We are hiring a Senior Accountant who will report to the Controller and be responsible for technical accounting issues, policies and procedures, finance special projects, SOX compliance, and supporting external financial reporting.

While accounting skills are a definite requirement for this role, the position offers the candidate an excellent opportunity to integrate those skills with insight and knowledge into Teradyne's manufacturing environment. This is a pivotal role that requires someone with attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and desire to contribute to the overall efficiency of the team. You will be a key member of a high performing accounting function supporting one of Teradyne’s businesses.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred
• 6+ years of related accounting experience; public company experience strongly preferred
• Multi-national / global company experience in technology, manufacturing or industrial industries preferred
• Strong understanding of ASC-606 and international revenue recognition policies
• Experience with Salesforce, EPM, Power BI preferred; experience with AI tools a plus.
• Experience with ERP and planning tools (e.g., Oracle, Oracle Fusion, Hyperion, or similar systems)
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role is $119,900-191,800. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan:

This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
