Job summary

SMB Team is seeking an analytical FP&A Analyst to drive unit-level financial models and forecasting. You will partner with leaders to understand performance, support day-to-day planning, and contribute to strategic initiatives including M&A evaluation.

The role emphasizes advanced Excel, data-driven insights, and collaboration across business units; you will help translate numbers into actionable business decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics or related field.
• 5+ years of FP&A, corporate finance, consulting, investment banking, or similar analytical role.
• Prior M&A and/or private equity experience — deal modeling, due diligence, or portfolio-company FP&A/value-creation work.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; able to build and audit complex models independently (three-statement modeling, LBO/accretion-dilution, unit-level economics, scenario/sensitivity analysis).
• Experience with AI Modeling, SQL and other BI tools is a plus.
• Outstanding communication skills; ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting, monthly forecasts, long-range planning, and ad hoc financial planning activities.
• Build and maintain unit-level financial models — new location openings, unit economics, labor strategy, and pricing.
• Partner with business leaders to develop assumptions, validate forecasts, and improve forecast accuracy at the unit level.
• Monitor performance and identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted finance partner to cross-functional leaders; translate results into actionable recommendations.
• Present analyses clearly for both financial and non-financial audiences.
• Support strategic investment activity: build deal models, assist with due diligence, and support integration and synergy tracking.
• Conduct competitive benchmark analysis and help set financial targets.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages, KPI dashboards, variance analyses, and executive presentations.
• Analyze sales, labor, COGS, OPEX, and margins by unit; maintain Excel models; automate reporting where possible.
• Collaborate with Accounting during month-end close to ensure forecast alignment.
