A day in the life of a Foundry Utility

A typical day involves rotating between foundry operations, filling in for DISA and furnace crew members, and supporting production where needed to keep operations running smoothly. You’ll move molten iron using hoists and ladles, operate forklifts and small equipment, and assist with basic mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance. Throughout the shift, you’ll perform cleanup tasks and material handling while working around heavy equipment, high temperatures, and moving machinery. This role is physically demanding and safety-critical, requiring constant attention, clear communication, and strict adherence to all required protective equipment and safety procedures.
