Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the plant's quality strategy for ductile iron castings, driving continuous improvement across processes and ensuring specification conformance. You will balance leadership on the factory floor with strict adherence to ISO 9001 and customer requirements.

You will guide metrology, process controls, and data-driven problem solving while building a capable quality team and partnering with Operations, Engineering, and Production to strengthen quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent foundry/metrology experience.
• Five years or more of experience in manufacturing quality with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficiency in 8D, CAPA, Statistical Process Control (SPC), capability analysis, FMEA, control plans, and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
• Strong expertise in GD&T interpretation and dimensional metrology.
• Experience supporting PPAP, FAI, customer quality portals, and ISO 9001 auditing activities.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard business software applications.
• Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing or foundry environment while maintaining compliance with PPE and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the plant’s quality function, establishing quality objectives, KPIs, and improvement strategies that support business goals and customer requirements.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Production teams to strengthen process controls across melting, molding, core making, pouring, shakeout, finishing, and machining operations while reducing defects, scrap, and rework.
• Oversee advanced metrology systems, including CMMs, 3D scanning equipment, calibration programs, and measurement system analysis activities to ensure reliable and accurate product verification.
• Facilitate structured problem-solving and corrective action processes for quality concerns, customer complaints, supplier issues, and process variation using data-driven methodologies.
• Serve as the primary quality representative for customer interactions, audits, new product introduction activities, PPAP/FAI approvals, and quality performance reviews.
• Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including internal audits, document control, risk management, and process standardization.
• Lead, coach, and develop quality team members while building quality awareness and technical capability across all levels of the organization.
