A leading company in fire protection and security is seeking a Foundry Production Supervisor for their Anniston, AL facility. This full-time position involves overseeing production processes, managing a team, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Ideal candidates will have molten metal experience, leadership skills, and a willingness to pursue further education.

Tyco Fire Protection Products (TFPP) is currently recruiting a Foundry Production Supervisor (3rd Shift) to work at our Anniston, AL site. The Foundry Production Supervisor will be responsible for process and material flow through a designated production area. Meets, exceeds production, safety and quality objectives. Supervises and coordinates process, employees, and equipment engaged in producing iron castings for the customer by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
• Studies production schedules, and estimates worker/equipment hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Meets production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Supervises 6-33 production employees. Ensures that employees receive all required training and are competent to perform job duties. Sets up rotation schedules, arranges cross-training opportunities and assigns duties. Suggests, implements, trains employees in changes to process specifications. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Responsible for the department’s efficiency rates and timely output of finished work or work in progress; making sure inputs are not wasteful and materials or tools are managed with 5S principles. Must be able to address and correct quality deficiencies in a timely manner and complete/turn-in all reporting forms as directed.
• Directs, trains, coaches, assists employees in performing job tasks. Communicates, supports, and enforces company policies. Interviews employees, appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees, addresses complaints and resolves problems.
• Leads the safety effort within the department. Follows all safety procedures and policies. Participates in safety activities such as support for Suggestion Boards, Grass Root team projects, 5S projects, department ergonomic improvements, safety on-boarding and daily safety talks with direct reports; near miss and incident reporting; and safety walks.
• Maintains time and production records. Reviews Kronos punches daily, makes changes, corrections, comments, documents errors.
• Requests estimates, submits requisitions, and inspects materials. Consults with support services (quality/pattern shop) to ensure the production of quality castings and to determine cause of casting defects and implement solutions.
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities with other departments.
• Utilizes employee group to clean and conduct minor preventative maintenance on equipment, as instructed by the maintenance department. Ensures that all equipment is in good, safe operating condition and is utilized according to process specifications.
• Participates in supervisor training, develops supervisory skills through continuing education and mentoring with more senior peers with production problem solving experience. May attend yearly trade shows related to new industry technology and should keep abreast on modern casting technology through reading AFS publications or on-site metallurgy training
Education and/or Experience:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; related college degree/coursework strongly preferred. Willingness to pursue formal education required.
• Molten metal experience required for Melt/Mold department. Some lead/supervisory experience and/or training required.
• Process/technical knowledge in hiring department required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills essential; ability to successfully deal with change, learn new skills, techniques and processes, and a positive attitude required.
• Shift/schedule flexibility essential
