Job summary

McWane, Inc. in Anniston, AL is seeking a Foundry Operations Manager to lead the main manufacturing facility.

This salaried exempt position directs molding, core making, pouring and finishing, ensuring safety, quality and cost targets while driving continuous improvement and equipment utilization. You’ll manage department leaders, coordinate with planning, monitor metrics, and collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience leading teams in a foundry setting (metals, castings, machined components, or similar).
• Understanding of electric melt preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage department managers within the foundry operations, including molding, core making, pouring, and finishing.
• Establish foundry goals and objectives; monitor operating performance; provide leadership and technical expertise to maximise efficiency.
• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality, safety, and cost targets.
• Monitor production metrics such as throughput, yield, scrap, rework, and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with planning to ensure material availability and efficient workflow.
• Troubleshoot production and process issues to minimise downtime and disruptions.
• Work with Maintenance and Engineering to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
• Attend trade shows and other events to promote facility capacity and capabilities.
