Pier Foundry & Pattern Shop, Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a fully cross‑trained Melt department team member to flex into related duties as needed. You will ensure safety, quality, production, and timely delivery while working in a heavy industrial melt environment.

The role requires 2+ years of hands-on foundry experience, English communication via radio, and knowledge of charging practices. Attractive benefits accompany a stable, long‑standing employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years "hands-on" production experience in a foundry Melt department.
• Knowledge of charging practices, metal chemistries and refractory's.
• Ability to communicate in English minute by minute production updates via two-way radio - required.
• Prior experience successfully working with ISO 9001 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Organizes work for smooth operation of the Melt department through coordinating activities including: assist shift supervisor in identifying and requisitioning needed department supplies; oversee department cleanliness; restock melt consumables.
• Perform Melt department tasks as needed including assisting furnace operator, running furnace, testing for quality iron, operating ladles, aiding line tending, relining and upkeep of equipment, and inspections.
• Other duties as assigned.
