Essential Functions
  • Utilize a proprietary sand dispensing system to create sand molds from patterns.
  • Place molds onto a portable conveyor and move the conveyor into the setup area.
  • Use an overhead pneumatic hoist to transfer molds from the conveyor onto the pouring line. Prepare molds for the pouring process.
  • Move molds from the pouring line to a wheelabrator machine to separate metal castings from sand molds. Manually break metal castings off the runner system to separate good parts.
  • Visually inspect parts for defects to ensure quality.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by sweeping, shoveling, and other tasks as necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety rules, guidelines, and company policies. Participate in daily communication and safety meetings with the Foundry Supervisor and team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Prior foundry experience preferred. Experience with the Sodium Silicate CO2 sand process is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and team members to understand assignments.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the entire shift (average weight is approximately 15 lbs.).
  • Capability to manually move a portable conveyor weighing up to 2,500 lbs. (with assistance from a co-worker) 10–20 times per day.
  • Frequent sweeping and scooping of sand.
  • Ability to trundle a wheelbarrow loaded with sand weighing approximately 400 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with extreme heat in the summer and cold conditions in the winter.
  • Ability to climb a ladder during clean-up operations.
  • Manual work requiring frequent bending, stooping, squatting, standing, sweeping, shoveling, and walking.
  • Capability to remove castings weighing between 1 lb. and 30 lbs. from approximately 600 to 900 runners per day.
  • Ability to push several poured molds weighing between 20 lbs. and 80 lbs. up an inclined conveyor (approximately a 2-degree incline) 25–30 times per day

1st Shift is M-TH, 4 X 10-hour shifts, 6:30 am – 5:00 pm.

All employees are expected to work overtime hours as needed.
Overtime is typically twice a month on Fridays and are 8-hour shifts.
