Job summary

J&T is seeking a Foundry Engineering Manager to serve as the foundry’s primary technical problem solver. This hands-on engineering role focuses on reducing scrap, improving casting quality, and increasing throughput across molding, melting, and finishing.

The role leads the pattern shop and foundry engineering function and provides technical recommendations to department managers and senior leadership. This position centers on root-cause analysis and process improvement, not a QMS

Qualifications

• Hands-on foundry engineering experience required.
• 5+ years in foundry environments specializing in white iron/steel casting.
• Strong root-cause problem solving and statistical analysis skills.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge a plus.
• Pattern and gating/method design experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the foundry’s primary technical problem solver to drive throughput and quality.
• Reduce scrap by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Coach molding and melting teams; improve as-cast quality.
• Lead pattern and method design to improve yield and reduce finishing.
• Provide technical support to departments and leadership.
• Support new product development translating customer requirements into producible castings.
