Qualifications

• BS in Metallurgical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of foundry engineering experience with white iron/steel casting
• Hands-on experience with pattern and method design (gating, risering, solidification)
• Strong metrics-driven problem-solving incl. defect analysis & scrap reduction
• Lean manufacturing knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

• Serve as the foundry's primary technical problem solver to improve throughput and quality across molding, melting, and finishing.
• Review scrap and rework data to identify root causes and drive sustained reductions.
• Coach molding and melting teams to improve as-cast quality and downstream finishing.
• Drive pattern and method design to optimize yield and reduce finishing requirements.
• Identify critical control points and implement corrective action.
• Reduce consumption of foundry consumables without compromising quality.
• Manage the foundry engineering staff and provide technical support to departments.
• Contribute to new product development by translating customer requirements into producible casting designs.
