RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, invites applications for an onsite role in Clayville, NY. You will perform cleaning, monitoring and securing operations to support the setup of a vacuum atomization furnace.

This 8th shift (Mon-Thu 10pm-8am) requires adherence to standard work instructions, basic hoist operations and the ability to assist in furnace lid and coil changes, with strict safety and CORE/EH&S compliance.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or equivalent) required.

Responsabilités

• Operate powered industrial vehicles (PIVs).
• Assist in the removal and replacement furnace lid and coils.
• Cleaning the interior of the furnace chamber and “O” ring seal.
• Assist in attaching/detaching gas, electric, and water lines to furnace lid and tank.
• Remove and replace furnace lid from furnace chamber using electric hoist.
• Disassemble/reassemble atomization chamber during alloy changes under supervision.
• Operate insertion and halo gas during atomization.
• Make minor repairs on the furnace and auxiliary equipment under supervision.
• Support CORE and EH&S initiatives and wear PPE.
• Refer difficulties to Supervisor or Team Leader.
• May be assigned related tasks to support department objectives.
• On occasion may work hours outside of typical shift.
• This position is for 8th Shift Monday - Thursday 10pm-8am.

What You Will Do

• Perform various cleaning, monitoring and securing operations to assist in the set-up of a vacuum atomization furnace.
• Must be able to follow standard work instructions.
• Basic hoist and rigging operations.

• As directed assist in the attachment and detachment of gas, electric, and water lines to furnace lid and tank.
• Utilizing electric hoist remove and replace furnace lid from furnace chamber.
• Under supervision of team lead, perform disassembly and reassembly of atomization chamber during alloy changes.
• Operating insertion and halo gas during atomization.
• Make minor repairs on the furnace, and other auxiliary equipment under the supervision of team lead.
• Support the cell’s continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Refer difficulties to Supervisor or Team Leader.
• May be assigned to tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
• On occasion you may be required to work hours outside of your typical shift.
• This position is for 8th Shift Monday - Thursday 10pm-8am.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
