Job summary

CVES in Clarksville, Tennessee is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained veterinary criticalist to establish and lead the critical care service at our 24-hour hospital, with backing from Nashville Veterinary Specialists (NVS).

As the criticalist, you will shape the service, mentor staff, and manage high-acuity cases with access to the NVS bench for consultations and transfers. This is a founding role offering a unique opportunity to build a program in a growing regional hospital.

Qualifications

• Board certification or residency training in emergency and critical care (ACVECC).
• Residents finishing in 2027/2028 are welcome to start the conversation now.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead critical care service at a 24-hour hospital.
• Collaborate with NVS specialists for consultations and transfers.
• Develop protocols and set service identity from the ground up.
• Lead the ICU and support surgical candidates.
