Job summary

Neighborly Software seeks a founding UX Lead to shape the platform's look, feel, and flow. As the first dedicated designer, you will build the design system, a reusable component library, documented personas and journeys, and accessibility and responsive design as standard practice, while remaining hands-on with design work.

You will influence product managers, engineers, and QA through clear rationale and collaborative leadership, guiding the product toward a simpler, higher‑quality user

Qualifications

• 5+ years of UX design experience on complex, workflow-heavy platforms.
• Experience building design systems and component libraries from the ground up.
• Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design ownership across product or platform.

Responsibilities

• Own design system and standards for reusable components and style guidance.
• Establish accessibility and responsive design as organizational norms.
• Lead research, personas, and journeys; translate findings into design direction.
• Prototype norms and cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, and QA.
• Improve core workflows to reduce friction and improve user outcomes.
