Job summary

Sitreps is seeking a Founding Technical Recruiter in the Washington DC area to build our recruiting function from the ground up. You will own everything from first touch to signed offer, with a focus on cleared TS/SCI and polygraph roles and outbound strategies.

You will work directly with the founding team, building a sourcing engine, crafting outbound messaging, and shaping our employer brand in a high-consequence defense AI environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle or full-desk recruiting with technical hiring experience.
• Proven track record of sourcing passive candidates and building pipeline from scratch.
• Demonstrated ability to close candidates personally, including navigating competing offers.
• Comfort engaging substantively with engineers about what they build and why.

Responsibilities

• Full-cycle recruiting across every function and level: sourcing, screening, scheduling, candidate management, and offers.
• Build and manage the cleared pipeline for TS/SCI and polygraph roles; reach cleared talent through outbound channels.
• Outbound sourcing as the default; use LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, community events, and other channels.
• Demonstrate technical credibility in conversations with engineers and read engineering JD to assess fit.
• Construct offers and close candidates, explaining compensation and equity.
• Maintain pipeline hygiene, accurate stages, scheduling, and weekly leadership metrics.
• Collaborate on employer brand with marketing and founding team; create posts and campaigns to attract cleared talent.
• Leverage networks including CIA officers and defense veterans to source talent.
• Identify and call out process inefficiencies and propose improvements.
