Job description

Reports to: CEO

Contract: Full-time, permanent

About the role

StudyStash is looking for a Technical Account Manager to own and grow relationships with our university partners in the US. You'll be the day-to-day point of contact for growing a portfolio of up to 20 institutions, working across a wide range of stakeholders, from IT teams to leadership teams such as Provosts / Deans. This is a relationship-first, technically fluent role: you'll need to be equally comfortable discussing an LTI 1.3 integration with an IT lead and presenting student usage data to a Dean of a University School.

What you'll do
  • Own the end-to-end relationship for a portfolio of up to 20 university accounts, acting as the primary point of contact post-sale
  • Lead onboarding and implementation for new institutions, coordinating with university IT teams on SSO configuration and LTI/system integrations
  • Engage academic stakeholders — from module leads and Heads of Department through to Deans and senior leadership to demonstrate value, share usage/outcome data, and secure buy-in
  • Track account health, usage data, and engagement metrics; proactively flag at-risk accounts and build renewal/expansion plans
  • Manage your account portfolio and project work, keeping accurate records of account status, action items, and stakeholder contacts
  • Run regular check-ins, quarterly pilot reviews, and renewal conversations with each institution
  • Design and write compelling case studies and presentations for College leaders
  • Gather customer feedback and act as the voice of the customer internally, feeding into product and sales teams
  • Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts (e.g. additional faculties, departments, or modules)
What we're looking for
  • Experience in a SaaS account management in Higher Education EdTech
  • Comfortable holding technical conversations (SSO, SAML basics, LTI, system integrations) without needing to be an engineer. This will require enough fluency to translate between IT teams and your own product/technical colleagues
  • Experience working with or selling into universities or the broader HE sector
  • Familiarity with VLEs such as Canvas or Moodle is an advantage
  • Confident communicating with senior stakeholders (Dean / Provost / VPs) as well as day-to-day operational contacts
  • Highly organised
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting data and outcomes to non-technical audiences
  • A proactive, relationship-driven approach - you see yourself as an advocate for the customer, not just a support contact
  • Based within commuting distance of the Bay Area
What we offer
  • Competitive salary $70k-$80k
  • Renewal / expansion commission structure 80/20The opportunity to work directly with the CEO of a fast-growing, AI first mission-driven EdTech start-up
