Job summary

JWM Tax & Accounting is seeking its founding Manager, Tax & Accounting — a CPA who will build and run the practice from the ground up: preparing and reviewing returns, standing up the firm’s operations and technology, and delivering a white-glove experience to an affluent client base. This is a rare chance to shape a practice rather than inherit one, with a defined career path to greater scope and profits.

In year one you are the practice.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license in Ohio or eligible for Ohio practice rights.
• Minimum one year of qualifying tax/public-accounting experience.
• Valid PTIN or ability to obtain one.
• Strong technical judgment, integrity and discretion with sensitive client information.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and sign individual and business returns across complexity ranges.
• Provide proactive, year-round tax planning coordinated with wealth advisor.
• Set up IRS/EFIN, configure tax software, client portal and workflow.
• Develop engagement letters, pricing, intake/organizer, and deadline calendar.
• Own the firm's information security and data-handling practices.
• Serve as the face of the practice to affluent households and coordinate with advisors.
• Manage client acceptance, engagement scope, and premium service experience.
• Maintain CPA permit and Circular 230 compliance; plan staffing as volume grows.
