Jarman, PA, CPA is seeking a Partner-Track or Director-level CPA to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of an established Jacksonville, NC practice. This individual will manage tax and assurance engagements, supervise staff and client relationships, and ultimately run the practice with minimal oversight. Key Responsibilities
- Review corporate and individual tax returns, including preparation of more complex returns.
- Manage the firm's existing compilation and review engagements, applying a strong working knowledge of GAAP, construction accounting, and not-for-profit accounting.
- Perform review procedures and high-level review of financial statements with strong attention to detail.
- Follow and uphold the firm's Quality Management System (QMS) across all engagements.
- Serve as an eventual signer on tax returns for the firm.
- Review and respond to client questions related to monthly bookkeeping engagements, ensuring accurate and timely
- Maintain familiarity with payroll tax compliance and sign Form 941 on behalf of the firm as necessary.
- Manage daily employee and client needs, providing hands‑on leadership and oversight in the office.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor rather than solely a technical resource.
- Operate independently, ultimately running the practice with minimal guidance from ownership.

- CCH ProSystem fx — tax preparation and review
- CaseWare — assurance (compilation and review) engagements
- QuickBooks Online — payroll and bookkeeping
Qualifications
- Approximately 7–10 years of public accounting experience, spanning both tax and assurance/review work.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP; experience with construction and not-for-profit accounting preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to review complex individual and corporate tax returns.
- Familiarity with payroll tax compliance and Form 941 requirements.
- Strong management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and sound professional judgment.
- Client-first mindset with the presence and communication skills to be viewed as a trusted advisor.
- Starting base salary of $125,000, commensurate with experience.
- Performance-based compensation in addition to base salary.
