Job summary

Inception is hiring a Founding Security Engineer to build security foundations for a frontier AI platform serving enterprise customers. You will own product/API security, enterprise security architecture, compliance readiness, and incident response as the company scales.

Expect to write production code, automate security workflows, and partner deeply with engineering teams. This role demands broad software engineering ability with a deep spike in security, acting as an internal security expert

Qualifications

• Enterprise API security experience and ownership of security for customer-facing APIs.
• Experience driving SOC 2 / ISO 27001 / GDPR programs and certifications.
• Strong Python with a track record in systems programming (Go, Rust, C++ a plus).
• Experience building secure infra, automation, and tooling in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Own security architecture for enterprise products and threat modeling across API surfaces.
• Lead security for product APIs, incident response, and security controls.
• Drive compliance readiness (SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) and privacy safeguards.
• Build secure infrastructure, tooling, and secure development practices across teams.
• Partner with engineering to maintain secure CI/CD and deployment automation.
